Overview:Pharmacy technicians are persons skilled in the practical and mechanical aspects of the profession of pharmacy. The pharmacy technician position requires a high level of function in specific skills and knowledge. Increasing involvement of pharmacists with patient care activities has increased the need for trained and qualified pharmacy technicians who are able to assume the more technical roles in pharmacies to relieve the pharmacist of these functions. Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. • Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Contributes to the effective operation of the department.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintains competence required for current job title/position.

Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Experience in an ambulatory pharmacy setting as a pharmacy technician is helpful, however, it is not required by the state at this time and it is possible to train an individual with no prior experience.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO
• Employees must obtain Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO or equivalent within 90 days
• PHARM TECH REG MO Registered Pharmacy Technician - MO Only if primary work location is in Missouri Required 90 Days
• PHARM TECH REG KS Registered Pharmacy Technician - KS Only if primary work location is in Kansas Required 90 Days
