Senior Coordinator, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life
Job Summary & Objectives The Senior Coordinator, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life is responsible for working with the Washington, DC Recruiting team on attorney recruiting efforts, the summer associate program, attorney professional development, inclusion initiatives, data management and analysis, mentoring and day-to-day administrative support. This role manages serves as a resource assisting the Legal Recruiting & Associate Life Manager with communications, administration, research and reporting, coordination of projects and strategic plans to ensure successful growth and consistency regarding the Firm’s key business initiatives. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate campus registration process for fall on-campus interviews, including working with the Manager of Legal Recruiting & Associate Life and Partners to determine number of schedules Provide candidate interview status updates to Recruiting Committee Partners during OCI season Schedule attorneys to interview candidates both virtually and on-site Communicate and coordinate follow-up visits for candidates with offers Develop Summer Associate event calendar with the DC recruiting team; propose, plan, and execute events Coordinate Summer Associate assignments, evaluations and review process; prepare review packets for Partners Complete bar admission forms/tracking Coordinate lateral recruiting for office and ensure that all attorneys are in good standing Communicate with Summer Associates between completion of Summer Associate program and onboarding in the fall Assist with developing the annual recruiting budget Maintain familiarity with general and regional legal recruiting trends; attend annual NALP Conference as requested Provide support to existing mentoring programs to ensure success and increase mentoring opportunities for lawyers in the DC office Contribute to the development and implementation of inclusion programming and affinity group events Track expenses charged to the inclusion budget and provide budget reports to the Manager of Legal Recruiting & Associate Life Update, maintain and ensure staffing for law school and inclusion events Facilitate Career Services and Law School relationship building and engagement; promote the Firm’s presence on campus Create draft copies of periodic Women’s Initiative and Parents Affinity Group Newsletters Coordinate and collaborate with the Legal Recruiting, Legal Talent & Professional Development teams in support of the firm’s inclusion initiatives Draft correspondence to various internal and external audiences regarding inclusion initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Education Required Bachelor’s degree required Skills and Experience Required 3+ years’ recruiting experience in a Law Firm or Professional Services office environment required Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, have excellent skills in written and verbal communication, have organizational ability, be detail oriented and be able to prioritize and complete multiple projects under tight deadlines Must be flexible to work overtime when needed (mostly from April to August) Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others Must be able to maintain a client-focused mentality and a professional demeanor Must be able to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion Preferred Excellent computer skills preferred with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Physical Demands (required to perform essential job functions) Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sitting: Remaining in the seated position, particularly for sustained periods of time Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder Pulling/Pushing: Using upper extremities to exert steady force upon an object so that the object moves toward or away from the force Bending/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine, or by bending legs at knees Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction Work Environment The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as in typical office or administrative work (normal light, air and space in the work environment) Salary Information DC Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
