Overview General Manager – The Board Room Wine Bar Located in the heart of CITYCENTRE Houston, The Board Room is a bold new concept that blends refined hospitality with a fresh perspective on wine, food, and community. By day, it offers an elevated grab-and-go lunch experience for professionals on the move. By night, it transforms into a sophisticated charcuterie and wine bar designed for connection and conversation. As the fourth unique concept from Midway's newly formed hospitality group, Rooted Hospitality, The Board Room is poised to become a standout destination for locals and visitors alike. The Board Room's unique location at the base of The Moran CITYCENTRE, recently recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the top 15 city hotels in Texas, presents a unique opportunity to engage both travelers and retail guests in the same setting. The hotel has just undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation, creating a sleek and modern environment for both guests and employees. Role We’re seeking a passionate, driven General Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of The Board Room. This is not a typical hotel food & beverage role—it's a unique opportunity to shape and scale a first-of-its-kind concept within one of Houston’s most vibrant districts. The GM will serve as the face of the brand, ensuring seamless transitions between day and evening service, cultivating a high-performance team, and delivering consistently exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Lead the successful opening and ongoing operation of The Board Room Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team aligned with our brand standards Oversee daily service for both the daytime and evening concepts Manage P&L, labor, inventory, and cost controls to drive profitability Collaborate with ownership on marketing, events, and community engagement Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement Qualifications 3+ years of management experience in a high-end restaurant, wine bar, or boutique F&B concept Strong leadership and team-building skills A passion for hospitality and a genuine love for wine, food, and people Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Proven experience managing budgets, scheduling, and vendor relationships TABC certification and familiarity with Texas health code regulations Compensation Tipped/Service Charge Eligible?
