JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing daily dog walks and adventure walks that make tails wag and hearts happy.
• Providing care for dogs, cats, and other pets while their parents travel, including feeding, playing, cleaning up, and walking, if applicable.
• Ensuring the safety and happiness of each pet in your care.
• Following specific instructions for each pet’s unique needs (because we know each pet is one-of-a-kind!).
• Keeping pet parents in the loop with clear and friendly communication utilizing our state of the art pet sitting app.
• Recording notes and taking insta-worthy pictures/videos on each walk or visit, including any fun moments had.
• Being PUNCTUAL and RELIABLE—our pets (and their parents) count on you!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong COMMUNICATION and CUSTOMER SERVICE skills—both the pets and their humans will love you!
• Independence and the ability to handle multiple clients throughout the day.
• Flexible Schedule: Availability. We provide morning visits between 7 am - 9 am, midday walks between 10am - 2pm, and dinner appointments from 4pm - 7pm on varying days. You will also be required to work at least two WEEKENDS per month. Major Holiday availability is a HUGE PLUS!
• A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Reside in one of our service areas to keep your drive time minimal. We are currently seeking applicants in the Dorchester Road area, but will also consider other parts of North Charleston, Ladson, and Summerville (near Ladson and Dorchester Road).
• Ability to pass a background check.

WHO WOULD BE A GOOD FIT FOR THIS POSITION?
• Someone who has impeccable attention to detail. Our work often involves very specific care instructions that vary from family to family.
• Someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service. A huge part of what we do is making clients feel connected to what is going on at home. An important aspect of this is providing clear and professional communication with good grammar, clear writing, fun photos, and the ability to report the fun you’re having with their pets.
• Someone with clear, concise and effective communication. Team members need to be able to communicate effectively with other team members, as well as our clients.
• Someone with great organization and time management skills. Our clients schedule timed walks/visits and you need to be able to complete the necessary tasks within that time frame. Your schedule will be provided in our app but you need to be able to effectively manage your time.

WHO WOULDN'T BE A GOOD FIT FOR THIS POSITION?
• Someone who doesn't like changes. Our schedules often change based on changes in our clients’ schedules. Our Team members do have a fairly predictable schedule during midday hours but we do have cancelations, last minute additions, and the occasional sick team member that needs coverage.
• Someone who needs to make a set amount of money per week to pay their living costs. Based on the fluctuating nature of our work, and based on a your availability, we cannot guarantee a minimum amount of work each week.
• Someone who does not enjoy working independently. We are looking for people who enjoy working as part of a greater team with support just a phone call or message away, but can also thrive working independently day-to-day. Trust and dependability is hugely critical in our work!
• Someone who does not enjoy being outdoors, especially in bad weather. Even when it is 20 degrees and raining or 90 degrees with 100% humidity, we are out working and visiting pets. They are counting on us to be there for them!
• Someone who does not like to clean up after pets: We deal with poop every day, vomit occasionally, and the odd major mess. Pet ownership is messy and we do what needs to be done to keep them happy and healthy while they are in our care.
