Admissions Planner-Mount Sinai Hospital- Part Time- Variable Shift

Description

Duties include maintaining accurate, up-to date, hospital-wide census and patient bed availability information, including all care centers, units, Emergency Department, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intra-Hospital Transfer Service and physician's offices. Takes initiative to anticipate problems, thinks creatively, generates reports, and assumes other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Pre-admits patients to unit or care center, including taking reservations and obtaining demographic and insurance data.

Admits patients, including verifying demographic and insurance information, and signing of forms.

Maintain census and charge information, including assigning beds to incoming patients, updating Admissions, Discharge, Transfer System and compiling information for proper charge capture.

Maintains accurate patient incoming and outgoing logs, patient arrival and updates in computer.

Facilitates direction and priorities for Support Associates to clean dirty beds for easy patient placement.

Answers telephones promptly; provides information and makes referrals when appropriate.

Operates the pneumatic tube system when required.

Prints physician prescription cards on an as-needed basis.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $30.6391 - $31.1724 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
