Job Overview

This is a unique work-at-home opportunity that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, as long as you are based in the East Coast Time Zone. Our comprehensive training program, which spans 18 weeks, will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this role. Your training schedule will be from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm EST, and upon completion, you will be expected to work a variety of shifts between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm EST.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a single-point-of-contact for plan sponsors, members, and providers, answering questions and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide customized interactions based on customer preferences and individualized needs, creating an emotional connection with our members by understanding and engaging them fully.
  • Build trusting and caring relationships with members, anticipating their needs, and providing related information to answer unasked questions.
  • Utilize our customer service threshold framework to make informed financial decisions and resolve member issues efficiently.
  • Educate and assist customers on various elements of benefit plan information and available services, enhancing their overall experience with blithequark.
  • Identify member needs beyond the initial inquiry, answering unasked questions, and resolving issues without or with limited management intervention.
  • Provide education to members to support them in managing their health, responding quickly to meet customer needs, and resolving problems while avoiding over-committing.
  • Process claim referrals, new claim hand-offs, and escalate issues as appropriate through our system for grievances and appeals.
  • Initiate outreach and welcome calls to ensure constituents' expectations are met or exceeded, identifying trends and emerging customer service issues to develop solutions.
  • Partner with other departments to deliver client-specific presentations, coordinating efforts to resolve service issues and develop process improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a world-class customer experience, seeking to understand customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Customer service experience in a transaction-based environment, such as a call center or retail location, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or insurance environment.
  • Knowledge of benefit plan information and available services.
  • Experience with customer service software and technology.
