**Experienced Crisis Specialist – 988 Chat/Text Crisis Support for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention**

We're seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our dynamic team, working remotely in a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused environment. As a Crisis Specialist, you'll be handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress.
**About the Role**
This is a remote position, working a mid-shift schedule from 10am-6:30pm central on Thursday through Monday (off Tuesday and Wednesday). As a Crisis Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for individuals in crisis, providing empathetic and non-judgmental support. You'll be responsible for conducting telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments, identifying appropriate community resources to meet individual needs, and conducting follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals in crisis
* Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
* Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
* Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
* Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
* Assists in administrative tasks as needed
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
* Effectively communicates via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
* Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
* Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
* Knowledge of suicide assessments
* Skill in providing crisis intervention
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or certified peer recovery specialist
* Six months to one year of related crisis experience

**Compensation**
* Pay range: $19.10-$26.80
