[Remote] Healthcare Data Scientist (Health Tech Startup)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 1Phi Inc is a health tech startup developing an AI-powered healthcare navigator called 1Sage. The Healthcare Data Scientist will define predictive models and perform exploratory analytics on medical claims data to enhance patient-facing applications and collaborate with engineers to enable MVPs from analysis to model deployment. Responsibilities • Define descriptive statistics and predictive models that run on medical claims data to enable patient-facing applications. • Perform exploratory analytics and develop specifications that enable patients to learn which treatment options and providers might be the most relevant to their specific situation. • Enable MVPs from initial analysis to model deployment by collaborating with data engineer, AI engineer, and full stack developer. Skills • 2+ years working with healthcare claims data (especially Medicare, Medicaid, and prescriptions), statistics and ML • Mastery over claims data interpretation and analysis, including cohort design, risk adjustment, treatment pathway definition, survival analysis, outcomes modeling. Familiar with healthcare standards and coding (ICD, CPT, DRG, NDC). • Proficiency in statistical and ML techniques such as logistic regression, propensity scoring, random forests, gradient boosting, and clustering. • Strong in Python including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PySpark. • Strong in SQL with ability to write scalable performant queries. • Comfortable with Databricks or other Spark implementations. • Successfully deployed a data science driven application into production (Bonus: You can demo it and give a code walkthrough) Benefits • Remote work culture (Must be online 9am-5pm CST) • Week-long offsite retreats (Must be available to attend quarterly) • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Generous vacation policy + company holidays • 401K + profit share contributions • Quarterly individual performance bonus (~10% at start, ~20% after 4 years) Company Overview • It was founded in undefined, and is headquartered in , with a workforce of 2-10 employees.
