Position Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the execution of successful new build infrastructure and expansion/retrofit projects in our GES Organization. This individual will lead a team of support personnel and coordinate the resources required to launch new and complex projects with the goals of achieving timelines, staying within budget, and driving standardization within our network. The Project Manager will manage medium to large capital projects with aggressive schedule commitments and will lead and coordinate the schedules of multiple vendors at the same time, as well as interface at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new and existing programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations
  • Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery
  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers, and escalating as appropriate
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and govern the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or sub-task
  • Provide accountability while reporting on status, asking for help, and immediately escalating issues and problems as necessary
  • Responsible for overall project schedule that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and Go-Live

A Day in the Life of a Project Manager at Workwarp

A typical day for a Project Manager at Workwarp is dynamic and challenging. It may involve traveling to different locations, attending meetings with stakeholders, reviewing project schedules, and coordinating with vendors. The Project Manager must be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make timely decisions to ensure project success. The following is an example of what a day in the life of a Project Manager at Workwarp might look like:

Monday: Travel to location, attend 3PL schedule review meeting, respond to emails, approve purchase orders, and track inventory.

Tuesday: Attend stakeholder weekly meeting, conduct site walk, review budget report, attend meetings, and work on project incentives.

Wednesday: Conduct safety walk, review orders with procurement, review non-inventory with site 3PL, manage risk, and prepare PMO reporting.

Thursday: Travel back home, respond to emails, attend meetings, approve invoices, review risk, and prepare safety reporting.

Friday: Update project health tracker, file travel expenses, book travel for the next three weeks, document lessons learned, attend team meeting, and conduct one-on-one meetings with team members.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will also have a strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and techniques, as well as experience with project management tools and software.
