We celebrate diversity, champion inclusion, and invest heavily in the growth of our people. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or an emerging talent, Verizon offers the platform to amplify your impact and accelerate your career.

Position Overview – Why This Role Matters

The Remote Senior Program & Project Management Lead – Contracts Strategy sits at the heart of our VVO Channel Development team. In this pivotal role, you will shape how Verizon negotiates, designs, and manages contracts with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders. By redefining contract structures and streamlining approval processes, you will enable faster market execution, stronger financial outcomes, and a competitive edge across our extensive brand portfolio—including Total Wireless, Verizon Prepaid, Straight Talk, Visible, Simple Mobile, and SafeLink.

This is a hybrid opportunity that blends the freedom of remote work with strategic on‑site collaboration (Tuesday‑Thursday). You will partner directly with legal, finance, planning, and operational leaders to ensure every contract aligns with Verizon’s long‑term vision and day‑to‑day reality.

Key Responsibilities – Driving Strategic Transformation

Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Design & Optimize Contract Language: Lead the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, ensuring they reflect best‑in‑class terms, compliance standards, and market‑driven incentives.
  • Negotiation & Execution: Conduct high‑impact negotiations with vendor partners and internal stakeholders, balancing risk, cost, and service quality to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Approval & Governance: Facilitate cross‑functional contract approval workflows, coordinating legal, finance, and compliance sign‑offs while maintaining rigorous documentation.
  • Change Management: Analyze contract amendment requests, assess business impact, and authorise revisions that enhance agility without compromising control.

Strategic Partnership & Alignment

  • Partner with the Planning Team to embed strategic language that supports forecasting, inventory, and channel growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with Finance to align contract terms with revenue targets, cost‑to‑serve metrics, and profitability drivers.
  • Maintain a trusted advisory relationship with external vendors, ensuring transparency, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Data‑Driven Decision Making & Reporting

  • Transform raw contract data into compelling visual stories and dashboards that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop standard reporting cadences (monthly, quarterly) for VVO leadership, showcasing contract performance against KPIs.
  • Conduct market research on vendor payment structures, emerging regulatory changes, and industry best practices to inform strategic recommendations.

Process Innovation & Operational Excellence

  • Apply design‑thinking methodologies to re‑engineer existing business processes, reducing cycle times and eliminating bottlene‑backs.
  • Institutionalize best‑in‑class workflows for Statement of Work (SOW) creation, Purchase Order (PO) processing, and vendor onboarding.
  • Lead cross‑functional workshops to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the contract ecosystem.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in contract management, program or project leadership, or related fields.
  • Contract Expertise: Proven track record drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts, service agreements, or legal documents.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear business insights.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of influencing senior leaders and external partners.
  • Technological Proficiency: Advanced user of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional international trips.

Preferred Qualifications – The “Nice‑to‑Have” Extras

  • Experience leading process‑improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile frameworks.
  • Background in telecommunications, wireless retail, or related technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain high‑trust relationships across legal, finance, operations, and vendor teams.
  • Track record of delivering presentations to C‑level executives and board committees.
  • Exposure to vendor management platforms, e‑procurement systems, or ERP solutions (SAP, Oracle).
  • Customer service experience that reinforces a customer‑centric mindset.

Core Skills & Competencies – Success Factors

  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to see the “big picture” while executing detailed, tactical activities.
  • Negotiation Savvy: Skilled at finding win‑win solutions, managing conflict, and protecting Verizon’s interests.
  • Design Thinking: Comfortable reframing ambiguous problems into structured programs that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Project Management Discipline: Proficient in planning, risk management, resource allocation, and timeline adherence.
  • Data Storytelling: Expertise turning spreadsheets into impactful visual narratives that drive decisions.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to rally cross‑functional teams around shared goals.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, embrace new tools, and quickly adopt emerging industry standards.
