Job Overview
The Non-Commercial Foodservice Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth, share, volume, and distribution while ensuring the delivery of high-quality foodservice solutions to targeted non-commercial customers, including colleges/universities, hospitals, corporate dining, military bases, and correctional facilities. This role involves managing client relationships, leading non-commercial segment business development, and overseeing trade budgets for each assigned customer. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader who leverages ingenuity, insights, and the voice of customers to develop new business strategies and platforms for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Director, Field Sales, other Beyond Meat team members, and the broker (Axcion FS) team to develop and implement sales strategies along with associated KPIs to help the Foodservice Team achieve organizational growth goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in targeted non-commercial segments.
- Partner with assigned customers to develop ambitious, yet achievable annual plans that deliver significant growth for the organization.
- Execute quarterly category reviews and planning sessions along with an annual Non-Commercial top-to-top meeting with internal cross-functional teams and Beyond Meat Senior Leadership.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers at all levels.
- Understand client needs and tailor foodservice solutions to meet those needs.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Budget and Financial Management: Collaborate with the internal team to develop and manage ongoing trade budgets for assigned Non-Commercial customers.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures, as necessary.
- Ensure ongoing quarterly and annual topline growth objectives are achieved.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct ongoing market reconnaissance to identify trends, opportunities, and the current state of the competitive landscape.
- Analyze market data to inform sales strategies and decision-making with the internal team.
- Operational Oversight: Collaborate with customer service to ensure efficiency and high-quality service levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with operational teams to optimize processes, as necessary.
- Lead trade management planning and help reconcile deductions monthly.
- Work closely with the Foodservice Sales Team to provide accurate and timely forecasting for new item acceptances, launches, and other significant business changes in the field.
- Indirect Collaborative Leadership: Communicate priorities and action plans through dotted line responsibility to the Field Sales Team (RSMs), Axcion Foodservice Non-Commercial Team, and internal functions to help deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) through strong execution in the field.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 6+ years Foodservice sales industry experience required.
- 3+ years of proven success managing Non-Commercial national/regional customers and building relationships at the HQ level required.
- Recent experience with broadline distribution and sales agencies (brokers) is preferred.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and account information in CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Experience managing high-pressure negotiations with customers.
- Adept at managing a complex sales process with strategic accounts.
- Ability to develop and implement high-level strategy and field execution plans (KPIs).
- Demonstrated results reflecting successful win/win outcomes with customers.
- Proven success selling branded value-added products.
- Current Non-Commercial customer relationships at HQ level is a major plus.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated strategic joint-business planning experience with Non-Commercial customers.

- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of SharePoint.
- Ability to effectively communicate over the phone, video (Teams, Zoom, etc.) and via email.
- Ability to develop sales action plans with specific objectives that drive results in a given timeline.

Work Environment and Company Culture
This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home and requires up to 50-60% travel, including driving, air travel, and overnight stays. You will be expected to work effectively out of a home office and be within 50 miles of a major airport. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $120,000.00 and $150,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
