Your work will span the entire software lifecycle—from conceptual design and architecture to implementation, testing, and continuous improvement. You will own critical components of Microsoft’s desktop and web client ecosystems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and delightful for end‑users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Architecture: Craft robust, modular architectures using C#, WinRT, TypeScript, and XAML that meet performance, security, and accessibility standards.
  • Implementation & Coding: Write clean, maintainable, and test‑driven code adhering to Microsoft’s best‑practice guidelines.
  • End‑to‑End Delivery: Lead feature development from story creation through code review, CI/CD pipeline integration, and production rollout.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop automated unit, integration, and UI tests; champion test‑first development and continuous quality monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, UX designers, data engineers, and other software engineers across multiple time zones.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Coach junior engineers, host brown‑bag sessions, and contribute to internal wikis and best‑practice libraries.
  • Performance Optimization: Profile applications, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements for both desktop and web clients.
  • Customer‑Focused Innovation: Gather user feedback, analyze telemetry data, and iterate on features that delight customers and drive adoption.
  • Agile Delivery: Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, refine backlogs, and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed security considerations into design, conduct threat modeling, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands‑on software engineering experience with modern programming languages (C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Go, or comparable).
  • Design Expertise: At least 3 years of experience designing scalable software systems and APIs.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Minimum 2 years of experience building or maintaining large‑scale cloud applications on Azure or equivalent platforms.

  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively in distributed, cross‑functional teams.
  • Problem‑Solving Ability: Strong analytical mindset with a track record of tackling ambiguous problems and delivering concrete solutions.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related discipline.
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as XAML, WinUI, or React.
  • Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles.
  • Previous work on consumer‑facing products at scale.
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or published technical articles.
  • Certifications in cloud (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect) or security (e.g., CISSP).

Core Competencies & Skills for Success

  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of object‑oriented design, design patterns, and modern front‑end/back‑end paradigms.
  • Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new tools and frameworks as needed.
  • Customer Empathy: Strong focus on delivering user value, informed by data, research, and direct feedback.
