Job Purpose: SimplyHome is seeking dependable and compassionate Part-Time Remote Direct Support Professionals (rDSPs) to join our Remote Support Team. This role provides person-centered remote care through our call center operation, promoting independence, dignity, and safety for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and older adults. The position features a regular, routine weekend schedule providing coverage during critical evening or overnight hours. Candidates must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with occasional weekday shifts as assigned. • Evening Role: Primarily scheduled Friday–Sunday, 1 PM–9 PM or 5 PM–11 PM, approximately 24 hours per week. • Pay start at $17/hour. Weekend and holiday coverage are essential, with weekend differential pay of +$2 on Saturdays and +$1 on Sundays, as well as time-and-a-half pay for holidays. These positions play a key role in maintaining consistent weekend staffing for SimplyHome’s 24/7 call center operations. Why Join Our Team? Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to: • Remote Support and Monitoring • Deliver high-quality, person-centered support using remote monitoring tools (e.g., sensors, smart devices, exterior cameras). • Respond promptly to system alerts to ensure safety, respect autonomy, and maintain privacy. • Assess a variety of real-time scenarios and determine the appropriate course of action. • Support individuals in daily routines, health-related prompts, and decision-making while fostering independence. • Communication and Collaboration • Maintain continuous communication with the Remote Support Manager, team members, and external caregivers. • Participate in team decision-making and share observations, insights, and support strategies. • Coordinate shift changes effectively by communicating key updates to incoming staff. • Engage with each individual’s Circle of Support to ensure consistent and informed care. • Documentation and Compliance • Accurately complete real-time documentation for all support interactions and alert responses. • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, policies, and relevant regulations. • Follow all Support and Technology Plans as outlined for each individual. • Uphold confidentiality, HIPAA standards, and SimplyHome’s policies at all times. • Completes and maintains all required training and certifications. • Technology Use and Troubleshooting • Navigate and operate SimplyHome’s customer portal and in-home technology systems. • Identify and report any technology issues promptly to the Remote Support Manager. • Collaborate with internal departments for resolution of technical concerns as needed. • Culture, Mission, and Professionalism • Embody SimplyHome’s mission: Empower independence through innovation. • Represent SimplyHome with professionalism, compassion, and integrity. • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment by demonstrating initiative, accountability, and respect. • Uphold our core values: Integrity, Community, Excellence, Innovation, Commitment, and Empowerment. • Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned by leadership Qualifications and Desired Skills Successful candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and attributes: • Technical Proficiency • Proficient with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet). • Interest and ability to learn smart home technology and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills • Welcoming, personable, and professional demeanor in all interactions. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and understanding, particularly when supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or aging populations. • Practices person-centered thinking and values dignity and autonomy in care delivery. • Problem Solving and Learning Orientation • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Self-motivated and eager to learn, grow, and innovate in a technology-enabled care environment. • Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to dynamic priorities with composure. • Work Style and Collaboration • Thrives in a collaborative team environment while also being effective as an independent contributor. • Flexible, dependable, and committed to supporting SimplyHome’s mission and values. • Understands critical nature of remote center staffing and limits call-outs and schedule change requests to most essential needs only. Important Notes on Schedule and Compensation • The Remote Support Center operates 24/7, 365 days per year, and this position provides routine weekend and evening/overnight coverage as part of the core staffing schedule. • Schedule: Regular, ongoing weekend commitment required (Friday–Sunday). Shifts typically run 1 PM–9 PM or 5 PM–11 PM (evening).Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week, arranged as three 8-hour or four 6-hour shifts. • Pay: Starts at $17/hour, with weekend differential pay ($19/hour on Saturday and Sunday) and holiday pay (1.5× hourly rate). • Part-Time Benefits: Eligible for 401(k) participation and earned paid time off (PTO) in accordance with company policy. • Reliability: Consistent attendance is essential. These shifts form a critical part of our staffing schedule, and flexibility to occasionally adjust start/end times may be required based on service needs. • Occasional schedule adjustments may be made based on service needs. Education and Experience and other Requirements • A high school diploma or GED is required. • Experience in caregiving, call center operations, or remote monitoring is preferred but not required; training is provided. • Must be able to successfully complete all required training for this position • Must be able to successfully pass necessary background checks and identification requirements. • Must be legally eligible to work overnight shifts in compliance with federal and state labor laws.
