Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Unit Manager I - Specialty Care to join our team in the Behavioral Health Unit. As a first-level supervisory role in the nursing series, you will assist the Unit Manager in managing and supervising a complex Specialty Care unit. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Unit Manager with the management and supervision of a complex Specialty Care unit, such as Behavioral Health, Dialysis, or Pain Clinic
  • Assign and review work, oversee staffing, and administer discipline as needed
  • Serve as the first level in the grievance process and assist with day-to-day clinical operations of a patient care unit or service on a designated shift
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to nursing staff to ensure exceptional patient care and outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Essential Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Two years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse, with one year of experience in a Specialty Unit (Behavioral Health, Dialysis, or Pain)
  • Current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Issued by the American Heart Association)
  • Certifications/courses required by unit, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Fetal Monitoring, or Critical Care course

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Supervisory/charge nurse experience
  • Certifications in specialty areas, such as Dialysis, Pain Clinic, or Behavioral Health Units

We offer a competitive salary range of $86,008 - $130,270 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including:
