Position Snapshot – What You’ll Do Every Day

The Remote Bankruptcy Intake Processor plays a pivotal role in the firm’s bankruptcy practice by acting as the first point of contact for new legal referrals. You will be responsible for transforming raw referral data into fully vetted, attorney‑ready files, ensuring that every case moves forward without delay. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to juggle high volumes of work, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and Register Referrals: Accurately input new bankruptcy referrals into Aldridge Pite’s proprietary case‑management system, assigning appropriate case numbers and metadata.
  • Document Acquisition: Retrieve all required documents from client portals, internal repositories, and the public PACER system, ensuring completeness and compliance with court mandates.
  • Initial Review & Verification: Conduct a thorough review of each referral to confirm that all mandatory information—such as debtor details, filing dates, and creditor lists—matches client and judicial requirements.
  • Gap Identification & Follow‑Up: Identify missing or incomplete documentation and proactively reach out to clients, attorneys, or support staff to secure the necessary files, documenting each interaction in the case‑management system.
  • File Preparation & Handoff: Assemble a polished, attorney‑ready file package and route it to the designated bankruptcy team for immediate action, ensuring clear internal communication and traceability.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Perform spot‑checks to verify that all processed referrals meet internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and external regulatory requirements.
  • Project Support: Participate in special initiatives such as workflow optimization, system enhancements, and knowledge‑base updates as directed by management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Offer feedback on bottlenecks, suggest process refinements, and assist in the development of training materials for new team members.

Essential Qualifications – The Foundations of Success

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume workloads with precision and speed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex legal requirements in clear, concise language.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort navigating web‑based platforms and databases.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a proven track record of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Basic familiarity with PACER or similar public court record systems is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets Top Candidates Apart

  • Experience with legal case‑management software (e.g., Litify, Clio, or proprietary platforms).
  • Understanding of federal bankruptcy statutes, court filing procedures, and creditor‑debtor dynamics.
  • Track record of delivering outstanding customer service to attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Certification in legal project management, paralegal studies, or related disciplines.

  • Detail Orientation: A meticulous eye for data accuracy, ensuring that every docket entry, date, and reference number is correct.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quick identification of obstacles and the initiative to devise practical solutions without escalating every issue.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Commitment to providing seamless, courteous service to both internal teams and external clients.
