We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated After School Credit Recovery Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. As a Credit Recovery Teacher, you will be responsible for providing personalized instructional programs to students who require additional support to meet their academic goals. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic success and personal growth.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the key responsibilities of the After School Credit Recovery Teacher:- Provide a personalized instructional program that is compatible with the abilities, needs, and learning characteristics of each student.
 - Collaborate with case managers to ensure that appropriate accommodations are being made for students with diverse needs.
 - Implement prescribed curriculum and employ creative methods of instruction to engage students and promote academic success.
 - Become acquainted with the characteristics, needs, abilities, and supports of each child through personal interaction and regular communication with parents and guardians.
 - Inform the program coordinator and take proactive steps to remediate unsatisfactory student attendance and provide weekly updates on student progress.
 - Maintain up-to-date lesson plans and supply the program coordinator with a weekly schedule of course work and completion of credits for each student.
 - Develop a close relationship with each student's parents or guardians and provide daily parent/guardian contact for all absences.
 - Facilitate student learning using Edmentum computer-based curriculum and other blended and instructional learning practices, including the use of online learning platforms.
 - Instruct and respond to students in an appropriate manner, using cultural responsive practices to promote equity and inclusion.
 
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:- A valid Illinois Professional Educators License.
 - Computer literacy and a working knowledge of the Edmentum Online Program and/or an online learning experience.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
 - A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organizational and time management skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:- Experience working with students who require additional support to meet their academic goals.
 - Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and strategies for promoting equity and inclusion in the classroom.
 - Experience using online learning platforms and blended instructional practices to facilitate student learning.
 - Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on serving students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
