Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Based Provider Relations Advocate to join our team in Knoxville and surrounding areas. This is a field-based opportunity that requires travel up to 75% within the specific region in Tennessee. As a Provider Relations Advocate, you will be responsible for assisting in the full range of provider relations and service interactions, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal, and future service enhancements. You will also be involved in training and development of external provider education programs and designing and implementing programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers, and practice managers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Training and ongoing education of providers on policies and procedures
 - On-site assessments to ensure that providers are compliant with contractual terms
 - Troubleshooting provider concerns internally with the expectation of timely resolution of issues
 - Traveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships and provide support
 - Presentations to train providers on new requirements or reiterate existing requirements
 - Documenting outreach and tracking progress as applicable
 
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in healthcare, preferably in provider relations and/or contracting. You should have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, as well as solid analytical skills. You should be able to balance multiple high-priority projects and meet quick deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
 - 2+ years of work experience, preferably in healthcare
 - 2+ years of experience in Provider Relations and/or Contracting
 - Intermediate level skills with MS Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
 - Ability to travel in-state (up to 75%) for provider visits
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the healthcare industry, in a role where provider interaction was involved
 - Experience and knowledge with Medicaid
 - Experience and knowledge with Long-Term Services and Supports providers
