We're seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our U.S. Consumer Services Control Management Risk ID & Assessment team as a Director. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks across our business processes, systems, and platforms. Your expertise will help us ensure that our control management practices are robust, effective, and aligned with regulatory requirements.About the Role
As a Director, U.S. Consumer Services Control Management Risk ID & Assessment, Consumer Banking, you'll be responsible for leading our risk identification and assessment efforts across the consumer banking business. Your primary objectives will be to:- Collaborate with business process owners to identify risks throughout business processes and systems
- Facilitate risk assessment performance, including Process Self Risk Assessments (PRSAs), and ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
- Lead control monitoring and proactively communicate key operational risk trends, activities, and events to senior management
- Categorize controls and map against risks and processes
- Support business units with identification of risks and spotting areas where product changes or improved controls may be required
- Champion risk management practices within the business
- Share insights, best practices, and themes across the enterprise
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:- 6+ years of experience in operational risk management, preferably within the Risk and/or Internal Audit function
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior business and technical counterparts
- Expertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
- Experience within the financial services industry, with a focus on consumer banking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
- Demonstrated history and ability to manage large teams, spread across geographies and with varying backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous:- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: risk identification, risk assessment performance, control monitoring, or thematic risk reporting
