As a member of the Workwarp network, you’ll join a culture that celebrates autonomy, continuous learning, and the power of collaboration across time zones. We invest heavily in the tools, mentorship, and community that enable you to thrive while working from the comfort of your own home.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s hyper‑competitive market, the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights is a decisive advantage. Our clients are embarking on ambitious journeys to migrate legacy SAP and SQL environments to modern cloud platforms such as Azure Synapse. They need a specialist who can design, build, and steward end‑to‑end analytics solutions that drive operational excellence, reduce cost, and accelerate time‑to‑market. As the Remote Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst Consultant, you will be the architect and champion of these transformations, turning complex data pipelines into intuitive dashboards and automated reporting processes that empower business leaders.

Key Responsibilities – Delivering Impact Across the Data Lifecycle

End‑to‑End Analytics Solution Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines that extract data from SAP ECC/EWM, SQL Server, and other source systems, transform it according to business rules, and load it into Azure Synapse.
  • Construct scalable data models (star, snowflake, and data vault) that support both transactional and analytical workloads.
  • Create interactive Power BI dashboards, custom reports, and visual analytics that translate technical data into clear business narratives.
  • Establish and enforce performance, governance, and security standards in line with company policies and industry best practices.

System Integration & Cloud Migration

  • Lead the migration of on‑premise AWS SQL Server databases to Azure Synapse, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Re‑engineer stored procedures, SSIS packages, and views for native Azure execution, leveraging Azure Data Factory and Synapse pipelines.
  • Re‑wire existing Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and desktop automation scripts to reference the new Azure data layer.
  • Validate migrated datasets against source systems (AWS SQL, SAP) through rigorous data reconciliation and testing.

Automation & Reporting Efficiency

  • Build automated reporting pipelines using Power BI, Alteryx, and Azure Synapse that reduce manual effort and improve data freshness.
  • Design CI/CD workflows (Git, Azure DevOps) that automatically test, deploy, and monitor ETL and reporting artifacts.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), capture feedback, and iterate on solutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Document process automation frameworks and provide training to end users for sustained adoption.

System Maintenance, Optimization, & Support

  • Perform ongoing performance tuning of SQL queries, Synapse workloads, and Power BI data models to ensure rapid response times.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, providing timely root‑cause analysis and remediation steps.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, knowledge‑base articles, and step‑by‑step guides for internal teams.
  • Partner with help‑desk and support engineers to deliver first‑class user support across the supply‑chain ecosystem.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Business Process Improvement

  • Work closely with planning, operations, procurement, and customer‑service teams to align data solutions with real‑world business processes.
  • Support daily SAP transactions for raw material receipts, production runs, and shipment confirmations, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Identify pain points in existing workflows, perform root‑cause analysis, and propose technology‑enabled improvements.
  • Lead initiatives that streamline manual co‑manufacturing (Co‑Man) transactions across 12+ facilities, reducing errors and cycle time.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering data‑analytics solutions in a supply‑chain or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven proficiency with SAP (ECC, S/4HANA), Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and data‑modeling techniques.
  • Migration Skills: Direct experience moving databases, SSIS packages, and stored procedures from on‑premise or AWS environments to Azure.
  • Programming & Scripting: Strong command of Python for data manipulation, plus familiarity with SQL, T‑SQL, and basic Azure CLI/Powershell.
  • Methodologies: Comfortable working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments and using DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem‑Solving: Demonstrated analytical mindset with a track record of driving process improvements and automation.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Professional certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, SAP Certified Application Associate, or Power BI Data Analyst.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Glue, Google BigQuery) and multi‑cloud integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of data‑governance frameworks, including Azure Purview, and security compliance (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics tools (Alteryx, Tableau) and machine‑learning model deployment pipelines.
  • Exposure to enterprise resource planning (ERP) modules beyond supply chain – finance, sales, or human resources.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect large data sets, spot trends, and recommend actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation; thrives in a distributed, multicultural environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating shifting priorities and fast‑paced project timelines.
  • Self‑Starter Mentality: Takes ownership of initiatives from concept through delivery without micromanagement.
  • Customer‑Service Focus: Prioritizes stakeholder needs and delivers solutions that enhance user experience.
  • Technical Breadth: Exposure to HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Azure Bot Service, and basic AI/NLP concepts is advantageous.
