Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for providing Tier 3 support and engineering for the management of data protection technologies, including production support responsibilities for Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). You will also be involved in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex data protection technologies, working closely with other teams within the organization. Additionally, you will participate in interactions with encryption technology vendors to ensure that their product development aligns with Wells Fargo's security goals and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 3 support and engineering for the management of data protection technologies, including production support responsibilities for HSMs
  • Engineer and develop best practices for scripting and automation
  • Create technical and engineering documentation
  • Participate in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex data protection technologies
  • Interact with encryption technology vendors to ensure alignment with Wells Fargo's security goals and requirements
  • Work with other engineering teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and conduct infrastructure risk assessments
  • Perform access, configuration changes, and device/HSM health monitoring, including checking logs, writing scripts to automate tasks, and performing other technical actions necessary to maintain a healthy and highly functional infrastructure
  • Provide regular rotation of 24/7 on-call support and required night work at a remote desk or data center location
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 3+ years of information security engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated by one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • More than 3 years of experience with information security applications and systems
  • More than 3 years of experience in Linux operating system development and automation
  • 3+ years of intermediate to advanced engineering skills/experience and/or automation script development
  • 2+ years of experience or a strong understanding of encryption concepts or related data protection technologies
  • Cloud certification from Google or Azure
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with business/management and technical/engineering resources
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (daily standup, sprint planning, and sprint retrospective meetings) and/or Kanban methods
  • Engineering and support experience with Vormetric, Thales, Voltage, Utimaco Atalla, Gemalto/SafeNet, and/or Futurex technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of server/file encryption technology, encryption key management, and information security policies
  • Knowledge and understanding of implementing infrastructure upgrades, security patches, or version upgrades
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Knowledge and understanding of cryptography and key management
  • Knowledge and understanding of the use and management of digital certificates and keys for authentication and encryption

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Advanced troubleshooting and technical solutions
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience facilitating meetings with team members in multiple remote locations
