Job Summary: Retail Cosmetics Sales Counter Manager

As a Retail Cosmetics Sales Counter Manager at Macy's, you will oversee the operation and success of our fragrance counter, sharing your extensive product knowledge and developing and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales goals. You will partner with the Sales and Customer Experience Manager and beauty vendors to execute company and store-based events, achieve sales goals, and drive business growth. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in creating a memorable and engaging customer experience, building brand loyalty, and driving sales through brand training, events, and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire teamwork to reach sales goals and elevate the customer experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of our products and services to build rapport and loyalty with our customers.
  • Use our clientele program to build relationships with customers, meet sales goals, and share promotions and product launches, ensuring that our customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Communicate with vendors and store leadership to execute company and store-based events, achieving sales goals and driving business growth through effective collaboration and planning.
  • Analyze business performance and create strategies to exceed daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual goals, using data-driven insights to inform your decisions and drive results.
  • Recruit, train, coach, motivate, and develop colleagues on policies and goals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and growth within the company.
  • Lead product demonstrations and peer-to-peer training, sharing your expertise and knowledge with your team to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Use point of sale technology and applications, including handheld technology, to assist in selling and fulfilling customer orders, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer experience.
  • Merchandise new receipts, process damages, testers, and select merchandise to return to vendors, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
  • Oversee presentation, organization, storing, and stock replenishment, ensuring that our store is always well-stocked and visually appealing to our customers.
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene standards, complying with asset protection control procedures to maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of direct experience in a retail or sales environment, preferably in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of success in driving sales growth and customer engagement.
  • Advanced authority and expertise in a specific brand, with a deep understanding of the beauty and cosmetics industry, including trends, products, and customer preferences.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to work a varied schedule to meet the needs of our customers and the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors, building strong relationships and resolving conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, with a positive and flexible attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
  • High school graduate or equivalent (general education degree or GED), with a strong foundation in math, reading, and writing skills.
