Job Overview
We are urgently seeking a Dietary Assistant to work alongside our medical professionals in providing assistance in all food services functions. As a Dietary Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals, while also maintaining a clean and safe environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis to ensure that our residents receive their meals in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Clean worktables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers, etc. to maintain a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.
- Assist the cook in preparing meals, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Serve food trays from carts, dining rooms, etc., and take them to the dishwashing area for cleaning and sanitizing.
- Work collaboratively with other dietary staff to ensure that all food services functions are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, meal service, and other relevant information as required.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure that our food services meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Essential Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
- Covid Vaccine required unless an approved exemption is presented upon hiring.
- Must be 18+ to apply.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a dietary or food service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Certification in food safety or a related field.
