Job Overview

As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in implementing programming, under the guidance of a consultant, to address Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals for each student. Key Responsibilities

• Apply the principles of behavior science to tutor students and effectively manage behaviors as needed
• Run data-driven practices as assigned, including implementing "Precision Teaching" and discrete-trial training
• Implement direct instruction programs and techniques, using explicit instruction as assigned
• Perform habit training duties and record accurate data
• Adhere to behavior management programs assigned to each student and arrange and maintain a safe and effective learning environment
• Submit all data and records by established deadlines

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in behavior science and a passion for working with students with autism. The following qualifications are essential:

• Associate's degree or higher in a related field, such as Special Education, Psychology, or Applied Behavioral Analysis
• Experience working with students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders
• Strong understanding of behavior science principles and their application in a educational setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience with "Precision Teaching" and discrete-trial training
• Knowledge of explicit instruction techniques and direct instruction programs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
