About the Role: Veterinary Technician I We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician I to join our team at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). As a Veterinary Technician I, you will play a vital role in providing support to clinicians, residents, and interns by instructing veterinary students in proper clinical techniques and delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality patient care and support to clinicians, residents, and interns in a fast-paced clinical setting Instruct veterinary students in proper clinical techniques and procedures Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure seamless delivery of patient care Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine Contribute to a culture of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service Essential Qualifications: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, Biomedical Science, Animal Science, or a related area Or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience Ability to work alternative shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call duty Ability to work around animals, hay, or dust Ability to move heavy loads Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience handling large animals in a veterinary setting Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a veterinary teaching hospital Certification as a veterinary technician (e.g., RVT, LVT, CVT) Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Compassion and empathy for animals and clients Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Texas A&M University, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our employees.
