Job Summary
As a Developmental Paraprofessional - Evening, you'll work one-on-one with our clients in their homes using our developmental approach to care. You'll be fully supported by our Clinical team on your journey to becoming an invaluable resource to a child and their family. This is a part-time role, consisting of approximately 4-10 hours per week, and offers a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one play-based care for a child or young adult with autism
• Follow a personalized plan for your client, reporting progress each session through our custom mobile app
• Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with your client's family, ensuring they are informed and engaged in our care program
• Attend clinical lectures and team meetings to aid in your development and stay up-to-date on best practices
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including our unique method of care, DRBI
Requirements and Qualifications
We're looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and individuals with autism, and who possess the following qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
• Experience working with children, preferably in a role such as a Teacher's Assistant, Camp Counselor, Childcare Specialist, Special Education Teacher/Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, or Personal Caregiver
• Interest in a career in child development, with a desire to learn and grow with our team
• Ability to commit to working for Positive Development for at least 12 months
• Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals with autism
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or state ID
• Ability to lift heavy objects, regularly get up and down from the floor, and actively play with children
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental differences
• Knowledge of developmental care principles and practices
• Experience with play-based therapy and interventions
