Job Overview

As a Senior Project Scheduler, you'll be responsible for ensuring the effective planning, monitoring, and successful execution of project schedules. You'll work closely with project managers and key stakeholders to maintain current schedules, deliver accurate projections, and facilitate financial reporting throughout the lifespan of major projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding schedule integrity and providing valuable insights to enhance project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Management: Develop, update, and sustain project schedules in partnership with the project team, ensuring compliance with best practices and contractual requirements.
  • Review and Communication: Conduct thorough schedule reviews to identify areas for improvement and deliver constructive feedback to the project team, promoting schedule integrity and collaboration.
  • Comprehensive Planning: Engage in all stages of the construction planning and scheduling process, from proposal schedules to baseline creation and continual updates, to ensure accurate and logical scheduling.
  • Collaboration: Participate in project meetings, particularly focusing on scheduling, to offer insights and address scheduling-specific issues, fostering effective cross-team engagement.
  • Contract Insights: Familiarize yourself with construction contract terms and their influence on scheduling practices, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
  • Performance Measurement: Aid in tracking performance, analyzing schedule trends, and implementing corrective measures as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Reporting: Produce in-depth scheduling management reports and provide resource-loaded schedules alongside risk assessments, delivering valuable insights to stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize project drawings and specifications to create accurate schedules and ensure logical alignment of all planned activities, demonstrating technical proficiency.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Schedule Management Tools and Methodologies: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing scheduling software and methodologies to develop and maintain accurate project schedules.
  • Project Planning and Financial Reporting: Strong grasp of project planning principles and financial reporting requirements, enabling effective collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional Communication and Collaboration Abilities: Ability to communicate complex scheduling information effectively to cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and schedule integrity.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to analyze schedules, identify trends, and propose viable solutions to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a Related Field: Preferred qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in construction management principles and practices.
  • Equivalent Relevant Experience: May be acceptable in lieu of a degree, highlighting the importance of relevant industry experience and expertise.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience in Planning and Scheduling: Preferred qualification, demonstrating a strong track record of success in planning and scheduling roles.
