Why You'll Love This Role

This position is part of the Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division at blithequark. As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. This role also involves establishing and maintaining aircraft and part standards within designated areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts training for Specialists in areas of expertise
  • Acts as a guide to other Engineers
  • Serves as a team leader/facilitator for project management or issue resolution
  • Coordinates with manufacturers and regulatory authorities as needed, ensuring that engineering practices are properly validated according to relevant guidelines and company manuals
  • Develops customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, alterations, inspections, testing, and other maintenance activities not adequately addressed in existing manuals
  • Staying informed about daily airline operations within areas of responsibility
  • Reviews daily needs according to airline/departmental targets and management directives
  • Investigates aircraft/part issues that may cause delays or cancellations, significant labor or material usage, or disruptions in maintenance activities, and determines suitable corrective actions
  • Provides engineering support as needed to address discrepant circumstances affecting aircraft or parts to restore operational status
  • Responds to requests from Maintenance and other airline divisions when technical assistance is required to support operations or resolve issues
  • Develops work plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or part engineering projects and pursues detailed attitudes according to assessed needs
  • Coordinates with other airline divisions as needed to facilitate effective and efficient execution of engineering practices
  • Prepares engineering documents to implement technical practices by providing customized procedures for repairs, alterations, inspections, or other maintenance activities that yield benefits according to airline/departmental targets and management directives
  • Maintains knowledge of current and upcoming regulations that impact areas of responsibility and ensures that all engineering activities maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Utilizes available resources to enhance levels of technical expertise and practical experience continuously
  • Also strives to improve communication skills, time management, and other personal attributes relevant to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties
  • Effectively engages with frontline colleagues and management alike

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or related
  • Engineering license
  • 1 year of engineering experience in a related field or 2 years of experience without a degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A&P license
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and make informed decisions
  • Demonstrates fitness, capacity, and readiness to take on new roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations that promote recognition of solutions
  • Capacity to interact with internal and external clients effectively
