As a Central Air Expert, you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of air conditioning and refrigerant units in a hotel setting. Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Central Air Expert to work Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, in our hotel located near Billy Graham Turnpike in Charlotte. As a Central Air Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our air conditioning and refrigeration systems. You will be responsible for reviewing, fixing, and maintaining air conditioning, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Review, fix, and maintain air conditioning, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment, including boilers, chillers, and air handling units/controls.
  • Perform minor plumbing and mechanical works for air conditioning systems and equipment as required.
  • Monitor and examine central air plant/hardware, switches, valves, checks, alarms, safety devices, and meters to identify leaks or glitches and ensure that equipment is working effectively and safely.
  • Maintain the engineering area, ensuring it is safe, clean, and organized. Collaborate with other engineering staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of air conditioning experience.
  • Technical, trade, or professional certificate/diploma or equivalent.
  • Central air certification required.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PTAC A/C Units, VTAC A/C Units, Water Source Heat Pumps, Make-Up Air A/C Rooftop Units, Natural Air A/C Units, and Split A/C Units.
  • Experience with refrigeration equipment, including reach-in commercial refrigerators, reach-in commercial freezers, walk-in coolers and freezers, brew coolers, and ice machines.
  • Knowledge of chiller systems, cooling towers and pumps, evaporator systems, and water heaters.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to gather, install, test, and troubleshoot air conditioning equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of air conditioning devices and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of Lock/Label Out procedures, OSHA, and other central air safety systems.
  • Understanding of maintenance stock and ordering of parts and supplies on an as-needed basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues verbally.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Employees in this position work both indoors and outdoors. To perform the job successfully, the candidate must be able to:

  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Hear sounds and perceive the difference between them.
  • Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • Use fingers to handle, move, or assemble small objects.
  • Make rapid, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • Change body movements or equipment controls to keep up with speed changes of moving objects.

Familiarity with the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read, and write are required, as well as the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.

What We Offer

At blithequark, we offer a competitive salary range of $35-40 per year. We also provide everyday compensation, allowing you to access up to half of your earned compensation after each shift.
