As a Co-op with ACS, you will have the chance to work with various departments, including Above Wing (AW), Below Wing (BW), and the Airport Coordination Center (ACC), gaining a comprehensive understanding of the airline's operations.

Key Responsibilities and Projects

As a Co-op with ACS, you will be assigned individual duties and work on a larger project that will be presented to Hub Leadership at the end of the semester. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with specific blithequark teams and working with multiple departments within the hub to drive operational performance.
  • Participating in Incident Analysis reports and Injury Prevention Group sessions, as well as attending station safety meetings.
  • Engaging in employee recognition events and contributing to the overall success of the ACS team.
  • Working with external business partners, such as TSA, DOT, aircraft cleaning vendors, fueling vendors, and the Salt Lake City Department of Aviation.
  • Assisting in various departments, including Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, and In-Flight Service.
  • Analyzing data, reading and summarizing new regulations, and problem-solving quickly to support the team's objectives.

What You Need to Succeed

To be considered for this Co-op position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation management discipline during the duration of the Co-op.
  • Maintain a competitive GPA and be in good academic standing with your university.
  • Aspire to work in the field of Aviation or Airline Management.
  • Demonstrate competency in skills such as data collection and analysis, reading and summarizing new regulations, and problem-solving quickly.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
  • Have excellent communication skills, be able to process complicated issues quickly, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Be able to acquire a SIDA badge for SLC, including a U.S. Customs seal and SLC driving endorsement, and pass blithequark's Physical Agility Test (PAT).
  • Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.

Co-op Program Outline

The blithequark Co-op program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive and immersive experience. Here's an overview of the program:

  • Co-ops will spend three alternating semesters working full-time at blithequark.
  • Example: SPRING - working, SUMMER - school, FALL - working, SPRING - school, and SUMMER - working.
  • At the end of the program, you will have one full year of experience, providing a strong foundation for your future career.
