About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science & Analytics team, focusing on Customer Service. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming raw data into core business metrics, working with custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights, and driving data-driven decisions to enhance our customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink, with a focus on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
- Apply strong data modeling skills to create adaptable structures that accommodate changes in source data or business processes
- Utilize Python or Scala to write clean, supportable code, with a strong emphasis on data quality and advanced SQL skills
- Develop and maintain custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights and drive business decisions
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to identify and prioritize business problems, develop metrics, and implement data-driven solutions
- Demonstrate strong communication and partnership skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
Essential Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies, with a focus on medium to large-scale data sets
- Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design adaptable structures that accommodate changes in source data or business processes
- Proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code
- Advanced SQL skills, with a strong emphasis on data quality and advocacy for data-driven decision-making
- Analytical aptitude, with the ability to think through complex business problems, develop metrics, and prioritize autonomously
- Strong communication and partnership skills, with experience working effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
