Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our Retail Banking department, you'll be responsible for delivering personalized and caring client experiences, efficiently handling sales and service transactions, identifying financial needs, and recommending products and services to improve the financial well-being of our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Build and expand banking relationships through proactive customer outreach and exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of bank products and services to support client needs.
  • Engage customers through proactive advice-led consultation, identifying financial needs and recommending products and services.
  • Process transactions and other account servicing requests accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain responsibility for a cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
  • Support daily operations of the office, including processing night deposit bags, ATM deposits, and balancing the vault.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, introducing clients to digital banking solutions and alternative banking channels.
  • Identify and resolve client issues timely, referring complex customer needs to the appropriate team member or business partner.
  • Ensure compliance with security and audit procedures, maintaining knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and completing assigned compliance training.
  • Participate in community events and support blithequark-sponsored initiatives, activities, and programs.

Essential Functions

Customer Service and Sales

  • Provide exceptional customer service and an outstanding banking experience by handling financial transactions accurately and professionally.
  • Proactively engage customers in conversation about their financial needs, identifying opportunities to recommend products and services.
  • Develop business and support servicing needs of customers, adapting to the needs of the office and providing customer service in both a transaction processing and sales role.

Product Knowledge and Advice-Led Approach

  • Demonstrate knowledge of all bank products and services, accurately processing deposits and lending applications and account opening transactions.
  • Engage customers through proactive advice-led consultation, introducing clients to alternative banking solutions and digital banking channels.
  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of products and services to support client needs, referring complex customer needs to the appropriate team member or business partner.

Operational and Administrative Tasks

  • Process transactions and other account servicing requests accurately and professionally, maintaining responsibility for a cash drawer and following proper balancing procedures.
  • Support daily operations of the office, including processing night deposit bags, ATM deposits, and balancing the vault.
  • Ensure compliance with security and audit procedures, maintaining knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and completing assigned compliance training.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Prior Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent business experience, with 1+ years of financial services experience in retail banking.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree, with 3+ years of financial services experience in retail banking and demonstrated ability to process transactions and execute a consultative advice-led approach with customers.

  • Excellent communication skills - in person and over the phone - with proven ability to personalize features and benefits of products/services to customers with varying needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank products and services, with a familiar advice-led consultative approach to engaging customers and offering solutions.
  • Strong desire to improve the financial well-being of customers by providing education and advice, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new technology effectively and efficiently, with a self-starter attitude and a strong desire to succeed.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to regularly stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to regularly lift 1-10 lbs., occasionally lifting to 30 lbs.
  • Able to travel between office locations.
  • Extensive computer usage is required.
  • Moderate to extensive phone usage is required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions.
