About the Role

The Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee is a critical role in Walmart's retail operations, responsible for leading and developing high-performing teams, driving sales growth, and ensuring exceptional customer service. As a trainee, you will be immersed in a comprehensive development program that will equip you with the skills, knowledge, and expertise necessary to succeed in a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop Teams: Teach, train, and mentor associates to achieve business objectives and drive sales growth.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Model and demonstrate the One Best Way (OBW) service model, ensuring customer needs are met, and complaints are resolved efficiently.
  • Drive Financial Performance: Review and evaluate P&L statements, manage budgeting, forecasting, and expense control to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervise and Develop Hourly Associates: Hire, train, and mentor associates, providing recognition, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate and Complete Job-Related Activities: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, identify and communicate goals and objectives, and build accountability for achieving results.
  • Ensure Compliance and Integrity: Implement company policies and procedures, utilize the Open Door Policy, and provide direction on applying company values and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years' of college; OR
  • 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.

Additionally, you will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
