About the Role
As a Customer Service Agent, you'll be the face of blithequark, interacting with customers in a compassionate, professional, and friendly manner. Your role will be multifaceted, involving a range of responsibilities that require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue, reissue, and discount traveler tickets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Book, ticket, and confirm flight reservations, handling complex situations with ease.
- Rebook travelers on oversold flights and during irregular operations, minimizing disruptions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Perform traveler check-in and front seat assignment, correcting oversold seat assignments and issuing upgrades as needed.
- Issue vouchers and provide direction to travelers for accommodations, meals, and transportation, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Work gate reader/scanner and related tasks, including pre-boarding, monitoring/checking carry-on items, and gate line management.
- Operate jetways/bridges for boarding and deplaning travelers, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Make boarding and departure gate announcements, conveying important information to travelers.
- Deliver domestic/international flight documents, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely delivery.
- Perform passenger service flight close-out procedures, finalizing tasks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Accept, check, and tag travelers' baggage at destination stations, full-service ticket counters, and priority ticket counters.
- Maintain a schedule of flight check-in processes, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
- Participate in customer service hands-on training, continually developing your skills and knowledge.
- Process and complete credit card baggage transactions at stands in the ticket counter area and activation stations.
- Assist travelers with self-service stand check-in and booth baggage handling at ticket counters, providing guidance and support.
- Line up at ticket counter stands and ticket counters, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
- Clear/confirm international documents at booths in the ticket counter area and activation stations, maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Accept and activate travelers' self-labeled bags at activation stations, streamlining the baggage handling process.
- Assist customers requiring special assistance or in-station, helping with boarding, deplaning, and transporting non-mobile travelers, special assistance travelers, or unaccompanied minors.
- Perform customer service work related to handling codeshare flights and contractor/ground handling arrangements or agreements.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance on-site, including fulfilling any mandatory overtime requirements.
- Respond and assist during security and emergency situations, prioritizing customer safety and well-being.
- Provide connecting travelers gate information, ensuring they have the necessary details for their journey.
- Deliver quality customer service in a professional manner, adhering to blithequark's guidelines and policies.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and performance standards, continually striving for excellence.
- Complete job-related stages of training, expanding your knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to regulations (e.g., DOT, FAA, TSA), ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards.
- Utilize various internal resources/systems, including during customer interactions, to provide accurate and efficient service.
- Wear attire as expected by company policy, maintaining a professional appearance.
Requirements for Success
To excel as a Customer Service Agent at blithequark, you'll need to meet the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong educational foundation.
- Bilingual language skills in certain locations, enabling you to effectively communicate with diverse customers.
- Valid driver's license as required by local authorities, ensuring compliance with regional regulations.
- Must satisfy FAA criminal history background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
- Ability to obtain proper airport authority and/or US Customs security identifications, if applicable.
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting to meet company and security requirements.
- Authorized to work in the U.S., ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
Preferred qualifications that will give you a competitive edge:
- Working knowledge of Sabre or other Passenger Service Systems, demonstrating your technical skills.
- Prior face-to-face customer service experience, showcasing your ability to effectively interact with customers.
- Experience working in a high-paced environment, highlighting your adaptability and resilience.
