About the Role

As an Online Teaching Assistant - CPB, you will play a vital role in supporting students enrolled in our Certified Professional Biller Training course. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely and be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of healthcare professionals. You will provide one-on-one mentoring, guidance, and feedback to students, utilizing our cutting-edge learning management system and virtual classroom platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized mentoring to assigned students, guiding them through the course material and ensuring they meet the learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Observe and evaluate individual student performance through assignments, practical assignments, quizzes, and examinations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Utilize AAPC's learning management system to access syllabus, assignments, and other materials, as well as communicate with students.
  • Participate in live sessions using AAPC's virtual classroom platform, assisting faculty and providing support to students.
  • Mentor students using a variety of teaching styles, creating engaging assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered.
  • Be available for student consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments using AAPC's virtual platform, phone, or email.
  • Attend one or more orientation sessions to become familiar with AAPC's policies, procedures, and learning management system.
  • Respond to students' coaching questions within 48 hours of receiving inquiries.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current and valid certification in Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Biller (CPB).
  • 2-3 years of production coding or auditing experience.
  • Current knowledge of the relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching adult learners.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
  • Ability to use technology effectively in teaching.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good organizational skills and timeliness in responding to student inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience in corporate training, particularly with adult students.
  • Prior experience teaching online or in a hybrid format.
