Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Development: Supervise assigned Claim Specialists, including hiring, training, coaching, development, performance management, and salary administration.
 - Claims Operations: Provide direction and serve as a resource for knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and insurance regulations when determining coverage and property damage.
 - Unit Management: Review and control the assigned unit's claim activities, including investigations, analyses, evaluations, claim payments, and adjustment expense payments.
 - Customer Service: Recognize events that affect customer service and provide timely communications to team members and peers.
 - Compliance: Ensure compliance with company procedures, applicable federal/state laws, and legal requirements.
 - Licensing and Education: Fulfill state licensing and continuing education requirements, as applicable.
 - Physical Demands: May require lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing a ladder for inspections on both residential and commercial structures, and working in adverse weather conditions.
 
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as a Claim Team Manager in our Hail Unit, you'll need:
- Prior leadership experience, preferably in claims operations or a call center environment.
 - Effective written and verbal communication skills.
 - Demonstrated leadership behaviors, including a customer-centric approach, candid assessment of challenges, and the ability to inspire and energize teams.
 - Physical agility to perform tasks that may include frequent lifting, carrying, and climbing a ladder, and navigating roofs at various heights.
 - Experience with Xactimate and XactContents is highly desirable.
 - A valid driver's license is required.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application:
- Claims operations and/or call center experience.
 - Jurisdictional knowledge and experience working in the insurance industry.
 - Previous experience in a role that requires Rope and Harness Safety Training (RAST).
