About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and driven Essential Plan Account Manager to join our team in Kings County, Brooklyn. As a remote opportunity, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere within commutable distance of Kings County while making a real impact on the lives of New Yorkers. You'll work closely with our Business Development and Community Outreach teams to identify new Business-to-Business (B2B) opportunities, enroll eligible members in the Essential Plan, and provide exceptional service to our members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Enroll Eligible Members: Enroll eligible members in the UnitedHealthcare Essential Plan, ensuring they receive the coverage they need to live healthier lives.
- Build and Foster Relationships: Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with key accounts, including provider offices, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and housing organizations.
- Present Health Plan Information: Present health plan information to providers, business advocacies, and potential eligible members, and close sales to drive membership growth.
- Provide Excellent Service: Serve as a point of contact for members, providing excellent service and enrollment experience to ensure member satisfaction.
- Lead Pipeline Management: Lead pipeline management to ensure a steady flow of new business opportunities and drive sales growth.
- Meet Sales and Enrollment Expectations: Meet or exceed sales and enrollment expectations within your assigned territory, driving business growth and membership expansion.
- Conduct Product Information Presentations: Conduct product information presentations in multiple settings, including in-home consultations, to educate potential members about the Essential Plan.
- Track and Measure Sales Event Effectiveness: Track and measure various sales event effectiveness and activities, events, leads, and lead progress daily through internal systems.
- Provide Input and Feedback: Provide input, support, and feedback on promotional opportunities, benefits, and other issues to drive business growth and improve member experience.

- Multiple Priority Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, including visiting provider offices on a regular basis and following up on leads in a timely fashion.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Health & Accident Insurance License: Health & Accident Insurance license required; if you don't have one, you'll need to be willing to obtain a company-sponsored state health/life insurance license within 30 days of hire.
- B2B, B2C, or Community Outreach Experience: 2 years of business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), direct marketing, outside sales, or community outreach experience required.
- MS Office Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license, good driving history, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance required.
- Local Travel: Ability to travel locally up to 100% of time within assigned sales territories in the NY market area.
- Core Business Hours: Ability to work core business hours, Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, and nights and weekends when required.
- Residency: Reside within commutable distance of Kings County (Bensonhurst, East New York, Midwood, Brighton Beach, Sheepshead Bay, and Bay Ridge area).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience Working with Diverse Communities: Experience working with communities of all different ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, diverse populations, and/or underserved communities preferred.
- Outside Sales and Territory Management Experience: Outside sales and territory management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Essential Plan Market Place Marketing Rules and Regulations: Demonstrated knowledge of Essential Plan Market Place marketing rules and regulations preferred; training will be provided.
- Bilingual: Bilingual (Russian, Spanish, English, Arabic, French, etc.) preferred.
- Established Professional Relationships: Proven established professional relationships with non-profits, community sources, CBOs, and faith-based organizations in designated sales territory preferred.
- Team Player: Proven ability to act as a team player, working collaboratively with others to achieve goals and drive business growth.

Compensation and Benefits
New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.23 to $38.46 per hour. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
