Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for performing data entry and patient enrollment, answering high-volume customer requests, and working under direct supervision to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will utilize pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and medication information, and you will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your work. Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize blithequark's solution information entry methods and guidelines to process new patient enrollment by entering data into the appropriate system.
  • Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
  • Investigate to obtain missing prescription information and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide support to pharmacists, both those in the office and those at different locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as needed.
  • Acquire a dynamic professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active professional license or certification.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic-level computer skills, including the ability to start and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print reports, and access information online.
  • Basic web browser skills, including the ability to open a browser, type in URLs, use a search engine, bookmark a website, navigate using back/forward/stop buttons, and complete forms online.
  • Intermediate-level keyboarding skills, with a minimum of 25 words per minute (WPM) and the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate for this role:

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • At least one and a half years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a certification/registration by state as conceded by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification agency.
  • Experience providing customer support to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessment of customer satisfaction.
  • Transitional to advanced-level keyboarding skills, with a minimum of 35 WPM and the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
