Job Overview

As a Product Manager II at TE Connectivity, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing and marketing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute product strategies, ensure successful product launches, and drive business growth. Your primary focus will be on renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems, energy storage, and high-voltage underground cable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute product strategies to meet business objectives and customer needs
  • Manage cross-functional teams to drive new product development, manufacturing, and marketing
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Ensure successful product launches and drive business growth
  • Collaborate with sales and account management professionals to win new business
  • Support pre-sales processes and proposal review and refinement
  • Recruit and develop talent to build a high-performing team

Technical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Solar PV design/construction packages, including solar array layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, collection system studies, and equipment installation details for Utility Scale Solar PV systems (20-500MW+)
  • Use AutoCAD, Excel spreadsheets, commercial and proprietary engineering software to design Solar PV systems
  • Apply working knowledge of the NFPA NEC Code
  • Manage external subcontractors for other adjacent services
  • Interact directly with clients for successful project execution
  • Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs (pre-LNTP)
  • Conduct potential site visits to gather notes and take pictures of existing conditions to aid in design and identify critical flaws
  • Contribute to the continual development of internal solar engineering standards, toolsets, and work processes
  • Turn initial system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPC designs

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ year of experience in electrical engineering of electrical power/distribution systems, particularly renewable energy facilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including study report writing
  • Strong operational, project management, consulting technology, and process skills
  • Strong communication/presentation and negotiation skills at the executive level
  • Experience with estimating or designing electrical systems is mandatory
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CYMCAP for cable ampacity analysis
  • Experience with power systems modeling software such as SAM, PVSyst, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSSE, PSLF, or similar software
  • Experience with the performance of electrical system studies – load flow and reactive power, short circuit, cable ampacity analysis
  • Design knowledge in other renewable areas such as Energy Storage and high Voltage underground cable systems
