About the Role
As a Theology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating a learning environment that fosters an active love of God and inspires students to deepen their knowledge of theology. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to shape young minds and foster a love for theology. You will be responsible for teaching five sections with a focus on delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons, implementing a standards-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on Catholic theology and critical analysis of Catholic teaching, and collaborating with department members to evaluate, monitor, and update curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach five sections of theology with a focus on delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to deepen their knowledge of theology
- Implement a standards-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on Catholic theology and critical analysis of Catholic teaching
- Collaborate with department members to evaluate, monitor, and update curriculum, ensuring alignment with our school's mission and values
- Integrate technology to enhance learning experiences and stay abreast of new trends and developments in instructional strategies and assessment
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the learning process
Essential Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who possess a passion for teaching theology at the secondary level and working with high school students. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's and/or master's degree in theology or a related discipline. Prior teaching experience, ideally in a Catholic educational setting, is also preferred. Additionally, candidates should be adaptable to deliver instruction in various formats, including on-campus, remote learning, or hybrid models, and committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion within our school community.

- A master's degree in theology or a related discipline
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
