Job Summary

Blithequark is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team, focusing on predictive analytics and machine learning. As a Senior Data Scientist at Blithequark, you will apply advanced data science techniques to drive business insights and inform strategic decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy machine learning models, analyze complex data sets, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Deploy Machine Learning Models: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models using technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability, and decision theory. Innovate by adapting to new modeling techniques and procedures.
  • Analyze Complex Data Sets: Understand the business context behind large datasets and develop meaningful analytic solutions. Apply analytical rigor and statistical techniques to analyze massive amounts of data using advanced statistical methods, including predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, analysis, and data mining.
  • Program and Develop Algorithms: Program using tech stacks like Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. Develop algorithms like decision trees, regression, XGBoost, K-means, and anomaly detection. Interpretable ML, Bayesian theory, etc.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with finance, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support. Communicate verbally and in writing to business clients and management teams with diverse levels of technical expertise.
  • Cloud Computing and Data Management: Utilize Cloud Computing on Azure/Databricks, querying in Snowflake. Leverage software tools and methodologies like GitHub, Continuous integration and delivery, and agile methodologies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational fields OR High School/GED and a minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational fields.
  • Advanced Degree: M.S. in STEM, computer science, statistics systems, physics, mathematics, statistics, data science, machine learning, or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced experience in SQL, Python, PySpark, or other languages. Experience with machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, and deep learning.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Advanced level skill in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, detecting patterns, studying distributions, visualizing results, and extracting insights to assist businesses in making informed data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership and Management: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the workplace. At least 2 years of direct management, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D.: Ph.D. in STEM, computer science, statistics systems, physics, mathematics, statistics, data science, machine learning, or similar.
  • IoT and Edge AI: Experience working with IoT and Edge AI is a plus.
  • Reinforcement Learning: Experience in Reinforcement Learning is a plus.
  • Healthcare Experience: Experience in Healthcare is a plus.
