Job Summary
As an Information Researcher - RWE at Blithequark, you will be responsible for designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality insights from real-world data, clinical trials, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial submissions. Your expertise in data science, statistics, and healthcare data will enable you to drive business decisions and shape study design and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient associates from in-house data resources or licensed platforms, analyze and interpret results, and help shape analysis strategy.
- Collaborate with various members of the Blithequark Clinical Trials team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial submissions.
- Clean, transform, and store data into a coordinated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization.
- Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD to find new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes.
- Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to resolve scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical companies.
- Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies.
- Ensure high-quality, thorough, and promptly interpretable deliverables from RWE reviews and analyses.
- Develop dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external utilization.
- Conduct due diligence on new real-world data suppliers/vendors and drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or related field.
- Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.
- Knowledge of common statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, regression, and time series analysis.
- Experience handling large datasets from multiple data sources.
- Experience handling protected patient health information.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or graduate degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
- Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease libraries, and insurance claims databases.
- Proficiency in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
- Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as well as regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and solutions.
- Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.
- Understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques, ability to continue self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
