Job Overview

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Early Child Support Assistant / Teaching Professional to support our lead educators in cultivating an engaging and effective learning environment. As a vital member of our team, you'll work closely with educators, special education staff, and families to provide individualized support to students and drive academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lead educators to design and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Assist in classroom settings as a co-teacher or teaching aide, facilitating the successful implementation of lesson plans and reinforcing lesson concepts.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, addressing their unique needs and abilities.
  • Uphold academic integrity by enforcing classroom rules and routines, ensuring a conducive atmosphere for learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and track student progress in alignment with educational objectives.
  • Lead small group and individual instruction using evidence-based practices to address diverse student needs.
  • Work closely with special education staff to implement necessary accommodations and support strategies.
  • Engage with parents during meetings and maintain transparent communication with families.
  • Supervise student groups and assist with daily transitions, ensuring a smooth and safe learning environment.
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons and assist with logistical tasks, including material preparation.
  • Support daily administrative responsibilities, including arrival/dismissal and supervision during lunch and recess.
  • Exhibit flexibility by stepping in for the classroom teacher during meetings or professional development sessions.
  • Assist in fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Perform additional tasks to support the overall school community as required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of college education, with a preferred Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, ESL, or Special Education.
  • Experience working with children in an educational context, with a deep understanding of child development and learning principles.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Excellent oral communication abilities, with the capacity to engage with students, educators, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, handling sensitive information with care and discretion.

Additionally, bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole is advantageous, and may be considered a valuable asset in our diverse educational community.
