Purpose of the Role
blithequark is seeking a highly competent Denial Management, Pre-Reg, Auth, and Patient Financial Contact Center (PFCC) Specialist to lead its Medical Billing Customer Experience Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert support within the medical billing department related to all medical payers, ensuring end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) for collecting pending payments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care to the frontlines by supporting the execution and achievement of functional areas and company goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues related to all tasks and assignments, ensuring seamless business operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customer inquiries, addressing insurance companies and patient concerns with professionalism and expertise.
- Utilize software and company systems to source, obtain, process, audit, and analyze standard data, presenting findings and insights to stakeholders.
- Organize, prioritize, and execute tasks and activities with urgency, adhering to managerial assignments and deadlines.
- Respond to and resolve issues related to Auth/Pre-Reg, AR Denials, patient and billing inquiries, seeking leadership guidance for non-routine or escalated concerns.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and insurance representatives, ensuring a positive experience and building trust.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in denial management/AR Collection, Pre-Reg, Auth for US Healthcare processes. EPIC experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in EPIC software and other relevant systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Denial Management, Pre-Reg, Auth, and PFCC processes.
- A strong understanding of common healthcare industry terminology, practices, and procedures regarding billing and reimbursement.
- Familiarity with Government/Commercial payers' reimbursement processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in using Windows-based computer systems and common business software found in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- The ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently, with a high level of ethics and a courteous, professional demeanor.
- Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to establish and meet deadlines.
- A typing/data entry speed of at least 40 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy:
- Additional experience in related healthcare operations or customer experience roles.
- Certifications or training in healthcare billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Familiarity with other healthcare software and systems beyond EPIC.
