About the position
Responsibilities
• Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes.
• Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
• Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
Requirements
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
• No experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013; those without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed RN - MO or Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire.
• Licensed RN - Kansas or Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire.
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required within 90 days of hire.
• Life Support Certifications required within 90 days.
• Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population preferred within 90 days.
