Job Overview

As an Overnight Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in our loan support team, responsible for performing approvals of consumer loans, making payment arrangements, and providing exceptional support to our customers. Your primary goal will be to ensure that qualified applicants receive loans in a timely manner while protecting the credibility of our organization. You will undertake an intermediary role between potential clients and our financial institution, providing expert guidance and support throughout the loan application process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound and receive inbound calls to customers, providing timely and effective support and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Consistently and accurately document all information pertaining to accounts, ensuring that records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Use basic business math to solve problems and make informed decisions, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial concepts and principles.
  • Speak clearly, concisely, and effectively, listening to and understanding information and ideas as presented verbally, and responding in a sensitive, tactful, and professional manner.
  • Follow written and/or verbal instructions, working within the laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures that govern our industry.
  • Process card payments accurately, ensuring that transactions are secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform the initial approval of potential borrowers by thoroughly examining their applications through multiple software systems, evaluating their eligibility for loans and making informed decisions.
  • Follow up with customers to clarify important points, finalize loan details, and keep them informed of rules and obligations, ensuring that they are fully aware of the terms and conditions of their loan.
  • Remain up-to-speed regarding lending and other financial services, staying informed of industry developments and trends, and applying this knowledge to provide expert support to our customers.
  • Create and renew records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on customer accounts and loan applications.
  • Identify customer needs, exploring all options available to them, and providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their financial goals.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, navigating tense situations with professionalism and tact. You will also need to have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly, concisely, and effectively, listening to and understanding information and ideas as presented verbally.

In addition, you will need to be proficient with technology, especially computers, software applications, and phone systems, with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, with technical skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as proficiency in the use of the internet and cloud-based storage.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

While not essential, previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the financial industry, would be highly advantageous. A strong understanding of lending and financial services, as well as experience with loan applications and approvals, would also be beneficial.
