The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is a leading organization dedicated to providing high-quality educational support services to students in the Denver area. Our team of experienced tutors and coaches work closely with students to provide personalized instruction and support, focusing on areas such as executive functioning, math, reading, and writing. We are now seeking a motivated and engaging part-time tutor to join our team, specializing in executive functioning and math support for middle and high school students.

Job Overview

As a part-time tutor with TPAPT, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse students, including those with neurodivergent needs, to help them develop essential skills in executive functioning, math, and other areas. You will work one-on-one with students, providing personalized instruction and support to help them strengthen their executive function, life management, and emotional regulation skills. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, have experience working with students with diverse needs, and are committed to making a positive impact in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person academic coaching and math subject tutoring to students in grades 9-12
  • Tutoring assignments are typically 60-90 minutes, scheduled between 2pm and 9pm MT during the week and between 10am - 4pm on weekend days
  • Work one-on-one with students to support their development of executive functioning skills, including planning, prioritizing, organizing, managing time, and self-advocating
  • Update parents on student progress and support them in developing new skills and strategies to facilitate their child's development and success
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive support services to students
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in executive functioning, math, and other areas

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following essential qualifications:

  • Demonstrable ability to tutor math
  • 15-20 hours per week of availability
  • Earned Bachelor's Degree
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A passion for helping others learn
  • Experience working with students who are diverse learners and are seeking the skills and tools to help them plan, prioritize, organize, manage time, and self-advocate in school/life
  • Experience academically supporting students with learning differences/challenges (ADHD, Dyslexia, Executive Functioning deficits, etc.)
  • Background in tutoring or teaching executive functioning, test prep, math, reading, or writing
  • Proven ability to personalize instruction to individual student's learning styles

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with students with neurodivergent needs
  • Cognitive Coaching Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience with test prep, math, reading, or writing instruction
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology
