Key Responsibilities
- Understand and apply knowledge of market rules to key business functions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Coordinate and communicate with market participants, member companies, and other stakeholders to resolve market issues and facilitate design changes.
- Facilitate market design changes through the stakeholder process, providing technical expertise to committees and working groups.
- Support the Market Working Group and other relevant committees, analyzing market data to identify areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
- Assist in FERC filings by providing data, drafting testimony, and preparing filing documents, demonstrating a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Research and analyze the design of other RTO/ISO markets, documenting findings in written reports and presenting insights to stakeholders.
- Develop and review educational materials related to market design, enhancing the understanding of market participants and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professional conduct and integrity.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in analytical and quantitative skills.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience for Senior Market Design Analyst positions or ten years for Lead Market Design Analyst roles, with a proven track record in energy market analysis or a related field.
- Proficiency in organizing and conducting technical and analytical studies, with a strong ability to apply electric market concepts to unique analyses.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and present complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Competence in using communication and data-handling software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
- Strong business acumen and professional conduct, with the ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- An advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, demonstrating a higher level of analytical and quantitative expertise.
- Experience in utility operations, RTO operations, or energy trading, providing a deeper understanding of the energy industry and its complexities.
