About American Express National Bank (AENB) and Global Risk & Compliance (GRC)
American Express National Bank (AENB) is American Express' U.S. banking operation, serving consumer and small business customers with payments, financing, and savings products. AENB accounts for more than 60% of the overall company's revenues and net income. Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) plays a critical role in ensuring the company's risk management and compliance practices are robust and effective. As a Manager - Third Party Lifecycle Lead, you'll be working closely with both AENB and GRC to drive the third-party lifecycle management program forward.
Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Manager - Third Party Lifecycle Lead to join our team. As the expert in third-party ecosystem management, you'll demonstrate broad knowledge about vendors, their services, and the data they consume. You'll be the single point of contact for stakeholders, providing deeper levels of supplier knowledge and expertise. Your role will be critical in driving the implementation and execution of the third-party lifecycle management program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and streamlining processes to reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive implementation and execution of the third-party lifecycle management program, working closely with local market regulators to ensure vendor compliance.
- Build strong relationships with key partners in Global Supply Management (GSM), third-party relationship managers (TRMs), and risk pillar SMEs.
- Manage and support AENB and GRC with onboarding new third-party relationships, ensuring a seamless and compliant process.
- Lead key third-party governance activities, such as risk assessments and program changes, to ensure compliance with the Third-Party Lifecycle Management program.
- Develop and drive a strategy to streamline, automate controls, reduce risk, and replace/exit underperforming relationships.
- Provide best practices, promote consistency, and lead/contribute to initiatives to improve and streamline processes.
- Engage with AENB and GRC leadership to communicate TLM requirements and its scope, ensuring alignment and understanding.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Program management experience with proven ability to drive results through cross-functional collaboration.
- Understanding of the Third-Party Lifecycle Management process and requirements.
- Ability to review significant amounts of data and prioritize based on program needs.
- Expertise in end-to-end process mapping, with ability to identify potential business, compliance, and/or process gaps.
- Competent in all Excel functionality, proficient in PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to attend occasional meetings outside of normal working hours, as required of global roles.

- Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy and productivity.
- Self-starter with a high degree of personal accountability, ability to work independently, and between cross-functional internal and external groups.
- Flexible approach and ability to 'think outside the box'.

Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $80,000 to $155,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits. Ultimately, the salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, and job-related factors.
