Key Responsibilities
- Instruct ESL classes utilizing effective techniques and knowledge of the discipline to facilitate student learning.
 - Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
 - Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
 - Work effectively with people of all ages from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
 - Utilize curriculum that incorporates content and language to prepare participants for the workforce and community integration.
 - Track student participation hours and evaluate outcome effectiveness.
 - Stay current in the discipline and maintain currency through involvement in professional development activities.
 - Provide timely feedback and assessment of student progress using appropriate teaching methods.
 
Essential Qualifications and Competencies
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher with a TESOL/TESL/TEFL certification or three (3) years of experience teaching ESL to adults.
 - Experience teaching adult learners and strong oral and written communication skills.
 - Ability to work well as a member of a team and with people from diverse backgrounds.
 - Commitment to the mission of Clark College and the LEP Pathway Program.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with refugees and immigrants.
 - Knowledge of college and program policies and procedures.
 - Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation.
