Job Summary
As a Tutor Advisor at Willow Elementary, you'll play a critical role in supporting students who require academic intervention. Under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, you'll provide instructional support services, including one-on-one tutoring, classroom management, and parent involvement activities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to students who require academic intervention, including reading, writing, and mathematics support
- Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Compile and maintain accurate student records, including attendance, testing results, and progress monitoring data
- Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors
- Conduct parent involvement activities, including parent-teacher conferences, parent education workshops, and volunteer coordination
- Coordinate parent/family school functions, including events and activities that promote family engagement and student success
- Attend meetings and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students, parents, and instructors
- Provide support in the library or media center, including assisting with research projects and literacy activities
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate progress monitoring data
- Perform other duties as assigned, including preparing items for the program newsletter, school announcements, and bulletins
Essential Qualifications
- Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness)
- Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff, and to function effectively as a team member
- Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students after the teacher prepares the lesson and plans the instructional support activities
- Ability to test and identify and keep accurate records on new and existing students
- Demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills
- Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply

- Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies
- Experience with progress monitoring and assessment tools
